S.A.W., Inc. Awards and Honors

Each year, S.A.W., Inc. supports outstanding achievement in the workplace by recognizing excellence in our employees. The Employees of the Year are genuine workplace leaders. Their supervisors note the roles of ambition and hard work adopted in order to overcome obstacles, surpass goals and realize dreams. The 2007 honorees share a willingness to seek solutions at work and a knack for turning them into solutions that do work.

S.A.W. celebrates its successful business partnerships by recognizing a company of the year. Recipients demonstrate a commitment to those we serve. They are companies who recognize the great business opportunities presented by joining forces with S.A.W. to form its reliable outsourcing services. Our companies are true partners in fulfilling the promise of our mission while providing valuable services for area businesses. We are pleased to acknowledge Oatey as our 2007 Company of the Year.

Some S.A.W. partnerships are so enduring and effective that they warrant a unique honor. We established the Lifetime Partnership Award to recognize companies with which we have worked for 10 or more years that have demonstrated an enduring commitment to our mission and those we serve. The 2007 Lifetime Partnership Award goes to Flexalloy, Inc. for its remarkable support of S.A.W. and its 17-year relationship that has proven valuable for both organizations.

2007 Company of the Year Award

Oatey

Oatey Company, a manufacturer of plumbing supplies, has worked with S.A.W. for over 11 years. In 2007 S.A.W. entered into a venture with Oatey that took 8 months to complete. It involved leasing 30,000sq feet of warehouse space, employing nearly 30 consumers at that facility to sort parts, sending the sorted parts to 7 activities centers to be packaged and employing over 200 consumers at the centers. This project and the consistent work through the years has made Oatey an outstanding company for 2007, and S.A.W.’s company of the year.

Lifetime Partnership Award

Flexalloy, Inc.

Flexalloy Inc. has been a customer of S.A.W. for more than 17 years. The Streetsboro-based firm distributes fasteners and provides vendor managed inventory services for the fastener market. Tim Thake, senior warehouse manager at Flexalloy, says the long-term relationship with S.A.W. has been built on the S.A.W.’s reliability and consistent quality.
Flexalloy uses both Community Employment, which has resulted in a 17-worker enclave at their facility and outsourcing their work to 4 of S.A.W.’s Activities Centers. This outsourcing for the year of 2007 resulted in approximately 2 ½ million parts coming into the centers to create kits or assemblies of 185,000. This work kept 150+ S.A.W. consumers working. Flexalloy has proven “to be there” for S.A.W. consistently. They are truly S.A.W.’s partner.
