Applicants go through the Intake Department at CCBDD for an interview. Then they are given a test to determine skill levels and are assigned a Support Administrator. If applicants seek employment in the community or adult activities centers, they are assigned to the region or center closest to their residence. A career plan is formed to match the person to the job (Vocational Assessment). Also situational assessments are done either in the community or at the centers to determine if the worker enjoys the work and performs the tasks well. In the centers the Adult Program Specialists train, assist and check quality of jobs performed by the consumers. In the community, Community Employment Specialists usually perform the job training.
